Felt Silverdale, Carnforth, Morecambe, Kendal, Milnthorpe, Lancaster, Kirkby Lonsdale and many other towns and villages, mainly from around 25 km from the epicentre. Typical reports described, "felt like a lorry had hit the building", "Sounded like a crash or explosion and house seemed to shake, including thebed", "was very loud, thought the house was falling down", "sounded like a very loud boom then felt like the chimney had fallen onto the roof".
